Francesco’s residency marks the beginning of an exciting and positive future for TOM House and our community.

Francesco Brunetti’s recent work speaks to the Queer fantasies, pleasure, and eroticism that emanate from TOM House. Here, fiction becomes more than an escape from reality: it is vital to desire, imagination, and inspiration.

Immersing in fiction takes shape through scenarios inspired by real places, from the historic residence itself to the distinct neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Drawing on stories told, overheard, and encountered throughout his stay, Brunetti blurs the boundaries between lived experience and imagined narratives, transforming fragments of everyday life into scenes of fiction on paper and canvas.
TOM House presents Immersing in Fiction: TOM House and Los Angeles, a solo exhibition of works by Francesco Brunetti. Developed largely during his three-month residency at TOM House, the exhibition brings together works on paper, paintings, and prints, exploring the relationship between place, storytelling, and imagination.
